Day's End

"Days End" is a song about life and death, endless cycles of order and disorder, and the ultimate impermanence of everything. In this song, we begin with a theme that becomes increasingly complicated and convoluted before stopping. These musical and abstract themes are conveyed through violin and double bass parts that ebb and flow between harmony and chaos. Throughout the entire composition, a piano signals the direction and passing of time (often becoming dissonant with everything around it.) We begin to reverse the flow of time, heal the chaos, and experience a restoration of order. The cover art is meant to convey the passage of time and the singular experience of the person experiencing this rebirth.
