“Atlas” is an energetic up-tempo electronic song inspired by classic Japanese arcade games (such as Genpei Tōma Den). It is the final installment of Isaac Cabrera’s electronic instrumental trilogy and builds on a recurring theme from his earlier compositions. This song has a bright arpeggiating synthesizer melody that stands prominently above the smoothly shifting chord progressions which form the foundation of the piece. This composition utilizes synthesized shamisen and erhu along with a strong emphasis on pentatonic melodies to place the music in the Japanese arcade sound-sphere. Isaac’s favorite moment in the production is the filter “blast” that occurs at 24 seconds into the song (measure 17).
